This plant is very easy to grow, as this species does not mind having wet foliage. On the contrary, the leaves can grow to cover the potting mix, so watering from the bottom with the pot standing in a saucer may be more successful. Humidity and free-draining potting mix are key to successful growth, so a peat-based mix with extra perlite or small Growstone is best. Allow the mix to dry or approach dryness between watering.

This species can tolerate a wide range of temperatures, but in order for it to flower well it needs to reach below 65°F at night. This plant can tolerate cooler temps without any problems. The flowers are long-lasting and emerge in the fall to winter months.
