Description
One of many genera that are commonly referred to as 'Ant Plants' because of their natural relationship with ants that form their colonies within the channels of this plant's tuberous base! Don't worry – ants will not come with this plant into your home!
This species is epiphytic by nature, growing on trees in southeast Asia. We have found success growing these in tree fern. As per the photo of our +40 year-old specimen plant, the caudex of this species can get quite large! We even included a seedling to show a size comparison. On mature plants, small, white star-shaped flowers bloom and often self to produce bright orange fruits.
