Description
Native to Myanmar and the mountains of Thailand, this orchid can be found growing epiphytically on trees. The canes and leaves of this species are both shiny and thick, making for a sturdy yet appealing appearance.
Den. griffithianum flowers in the spring, producing several 4-5 cm wide blooms. The petals are bright, golden-yellow with a darker lip that is covered with hairs.
Allow for a winter rest period of 2-3 months, during which this orchid should be dry between waterings. Hold off on adding fertilizer until spring time, when regular watering begins. This will help stimulate flowering and healthy growth.
