A great alternative to standard peat moss. This product is pre-soaked and loose, cutting out the initial soaking preparation time. Coco peat is finely ground coconut husk which has great water retention properties while having a slower biodegrade rate than standard sphagnum peat moss. It can be used to amend various potting media. We find this product works great on a wide variety of water loving plants. We often make a mix consisting of 50% coco peat, blended with 25% perlite and 25% small charcoal. We also like to use coco peat for seedlings as it holds water longer in small containers compared to most other potting media. We have had luck with Cattleya, Phalaenopsis, Oncidium, Zygopetalum and Miltoniopsis to name a few varieties.
