An incredible species that blooms with deep, black/red flowers that arise from the base of the growths and last about 4 weeks! Native to the rainforests of Brazil in the state of Espirito Santo, where it grows in dappled sunlight enjoying a wide range of temperatures. This orchid typically flowers in the fall, but can bloom in the spring or other times. We have found these grow best in New Zealand sphagnum moss, watering when the medium is lightly damp to the touch. These have long lasting flowers and these plants can flower several times a year. We sell divisions of our very best clones. These were all originally collected plants from decades ago. The last three photos are of the ‘Livingston’ clone.
