Description
An epiphytic miniature from the Ecuadorian cloud forest. These curious miniature plants have an unusual feature. If you touch the lip of the flower a couple of times it will eventually snap shut presumably trapping any insect that might venture there for pollination purposes. This is really fun to watch but takes some patience and steady eyes as it can take a few minutes for the flower to decide when to close the lip. Sometimes it happens in a blink of an eye! Water as the sphagnum moss approaches dryness. The leaves have an interesting pattern with purple veins. The whole plant is ony 2-3 inches tall. Current plants are nice multi-growth clumps.
