The coerulea color form of tetraspis, native to Northwest Sumatra and often found in Mangrove swamps. The inch to inch and a half flowers are colored in a lighter indigo blue to silver gray color with white tips. A unique trait of this plant is that each flower can have varying amounts of pigment which seems to be influenced by temperature and possibly ultraviolet light.
Best grown in New Zealand sphagnum moss allowing the moss to approach dryness between watering. The flowers have a sweet fragrance, and can the flower spikes can re-bloom the next season, so do not remove them unless they are turning a pale yellow color. It should be noted that sometimes removing the spikes is advantageous as the plant will put more energy into new foliage, and will still add new flower spikes the next bloom season.
Fertilize with our Green Jungle fertilizer once every 3-4 weeks for best results. These are well grown plants with a 10” or more leafspan.
