Description
We made this cross in 2011 to improve upon the already famous Guadalupe Pineda. We do think this is an improvement as the flowers have more distinct markings with fuller more rounded flowers. There is an interesting scent as well that is not sweet like bellina but is a pleasing, somewhat spicy odor. The flowers emerge one at a time with up to two or three flowers open at any one time. Never cut the spike off as long as it is green as the spike can produce flowers for several years. In the winter the spikes will just kind of sit there until the days are longer unless you have artificial lighting. These start putting out flower spikes in the spring but typically start flowering in Late April to early June and can flower all through the summer up into fall.
