Description
Paph. Lady Rothschild is a cross of Lady Isabel (rothschildianum X stonei) which is back crossed onto Paph. rothschildianum. These will be like improved Lady Isabels with the stronger rothschildianum influence. Tall, graceful stems with strongly striped flowers that are large and once open, look like a flock of birds descending. Long lasting (a couple of months), these plants do get a little large at 2-3 feet across when mature.
These take anywhere from 7-10 years to grow up to flowering size. As of 3/12/2021, these are just budded with a couple just starting to open. The flower will continue to grow and get flatter and larger than in the photos. The flowers have a deep red/mahogany pouch and intense dark brown/black striping on the dorsal and ventral sepals. The petals are a suffused mahogany color. Very limited amount available.
Please note because of the many years it takes to grow these plants not all of the leaves will be flawless. There may be some dings or spots on some of the plants.
