Description
Uncommon in collections. Tolumnia prionochila is a small, lowland, warm-growing epiphyte from the Virgin Islands. These plants prefer high light, humidity, good air movement, and must dry out quickly after watering - as such, our plants are mounted on cork. The pretty, bright yellow flowers emerge from very long, wiry spikes. After flowering, these prolific plants often develop numerous keikis along their inflorescences. Our plants seem to flower off-and-on, which is a nice trait. Interestingly, the leaf margins of this species are edged with a delicate serration.
