A lovely treat of successive blooming spikes and mottled foliage.
These are clones of the longest successive blooming orchid of all time. This particular clone has the highest award provided by the AOS judging system (FCC= First Class Certificate). Once these plants flower do not cut the flower spikes as it will produce one flower after the next for years on end, as long as the plants remain healthy. Many have been recorded to flower over 10 years on a single spike. Even if the flower stem breaks, do not remove it as it can branch from a node on the stem and continue to flower. The only time to remove the stem is once it has expired and turned tan or yellow. Premature expiration of spikes comes if the plant has a poor root system or is over/under-watered and root stressed. This plant likes medium light and intermediate to warm temperatures. Water as the potting mix approaches dryness.
