Description
A wide ranging Nepenthes species found thoughout much of Southeast Asia and many of the islands in the South China Sea, consequently exhibiting great deal of variability. This species has been known to harbor tree frogs in its pitchers in southern China. The frogs, impervious to the pitchers' digestive acids, feed on the insects which become trapped by their host. The form "globosa" was more recently discovered in only 2010. Its beautiful globe-like, reddish pitchers can be seen even on the seedlings.
