Description
A famous neofinetia for its pure white variegated top leaf and ruby root tip color. Although it is categorized as a ruby, the root tips are really a bright pink, and very attractive! This plant has a very interesting story behind it. I (Jason Fischer) was visiting my Neofinetia mentor in Japan who told me he was the first person who obtained this plant, which was wild collected by a police officer friend of his when he was on a hike in the woods sometime in the 1980's. The first division he sold was valued at about $30,000. Since then, they have been produced from seed with the same foliage and root color. However, the original mother plant hold the largest leaves, and is seldom available. Our plants are divisions from seedling plants we have been growing for several years.
Houmeiden will express the most white in the leaves during the early spring season (between March and May). Once The summer grow season begins, there will be more green in the foliage.
A healthy 3 growth Houmeiden freshly potted in moss on 11/8/20.
