Description
A rare Bulbophyllum species is native to the Malaysian peninsula, the Moluccas, Sumatra, Borneo, Java and New Guinea. This plant produces an amazing umbel of flowers that smell like dead fish! It is quite popular amongst collectors and grows well in bulb pans in fine bark, moss or coco-peat mixed with small bark and perlite. If you have good humidity and water often, then basket culture will work as well. This plant thrives in heat and will perform best with daytime highs of the upper 70's to upper 80's.
The photo example is of our clone of 'Maximum Exposure', and represents what the flower shape should look like.
We have a few well-established, blooming size plants available that just got shifted into 8" bulb pans with New Zealand Sphagnum moss as of June 2024. These plants have about 10 growths including old and new.
